When you open an app, you know why you opened it. In Sükunet, it is usually for a quiet moment: checking the next prayer time, picking up your Quran reading where you left off, or completing the day’s dhikr.
An ad appearing in the middle of that moment can look like a small thing. In reality, it means selling that moment to someone else. That is why one of the very first decisions we made when designing Sükunet was crystal clear: there are no ads in Sükunet.
Attention is the app itself
For many apps, the user’s attention is a product to be sold. The longer you stay, the more ads you see; the more ads you see, the more “successful” the app is considered.
In a spiritual app, that equation is reversed. Here, attention is not a product but the reason the app exists. Staying undistracted while you read, pray or simply check a prayer time is the real value Sükunet offers. Adding ads would mean diminishing that value with our own hands.
A simple screen, a deliberate choice
Being ad-free is not enough on its own. Sometimes what distracts us is not an ad but a screen that is busier than it needs to be. So in Sükunet, each screen tries to do one thing well:
- The Holy Quran experience: the Arabic text, translation and transliteration together, with reading tools that don’t interrupt your reading.
- Prayer times: times for your location, readable at a glance.
- Dhikr and spiritual tracking: tools that quietly keep your daily habits steady, without turning them into a competition.
Notifications: to remind, not to disturb
Sükunet does send notifications, because reminding you of a prayer time is genuinely useful. But our principle is simple: we send value, not notifications. Reminders are personalised to your goals, and they arrive to help you, not to pull you back into the app.
Privacy: faith is personal
A person’s worship, prayers and spiritual journey are among the most personal parts of their life. That is why privacy in Sükunet is not a setting; it is the default.
In the Dua Community you can share your duas anonymously and join in the duas of others. In the Khatm Community you take part in shared Quran completions by dividing the juz with others. The aim of these features is not to show who is doing what, but to let you feel the peace of being together.
Our general principle is the same: we don’t sell your data, we never ask for more than we need, and we say clearly what we collect. You can find the details in our privacy notice.
Less, but better
Building an ad-free, simple and privacy-respecting app means closing off some easy roads. We don’t see that as a constraint, but as the product’s character.
We want you to feel a little calmer when you close Sükunet than when you opened it.
You can find more about Sükunet on its product page. We’ll share the store links there once they are published.
